Querétaro had a strong start to the second half, with Jhojan Julio finding the back of the net just 1 minute after the break, at the 46th minute. However, FC Juárez responded quickly, equalizing through a penalty converted by Óscar Estupiñán in the 55th minute.
Drama ensued as Diego Reyes of Querétaro twice hit the woodwork, frustrating the home crowd and denying his team a potential winning goal.
