At. Nacional secured a narrow 2-1 victory over Pasto in a tightly contested match held on Sunday for the 14th round of the Colombian league. The match opened energetically when Alfredo Morelos scored in the 22nd minute, capitalizing on a well-executed play to put the Verde ahead. However, just five minutes later, Andrey Estupiñán leveled the score for Pasto in the 27th minute, thanks to a skillful maneuver. It wasn’t until the 78th minute that Juan Rengifo struck what would be the winning goal for At. Nacional after a remarkable buildup.
The first goal came from a fantastic play initiated by Eduard Bello, whose precise cross allowed Morelos to control and shoot past Iago Herrerín, giving At. Nacional the initial advantage.
Juan Rengifo was undoubtedly the standout player of the match, netting one goal and attempting three shots at goal. Edwin Cardona also played a pivotal role, targeting the net twice during the game.
Pasto’s coach, Jonathan Risueño, set his team in a 3-6-1 formation with Iago Herrerín in goal; Fáiner Torijano, Nicolás Gil, and Edwin Velasco in defense; and a midfield consisting of Juan Mateo Garavito, Yeiler Góez, Johan Caicedo, Hervin Goyes, Diego Chávez, and Jonathan Perlaza, leaving Andrey Estupiñán as the lone striker.
Meanwhile, At. Nacional’s manager, Diego Arias, opted for a 4-5-1 style of play, featuring Harlen Castillo as the goalkeeper; a backline of Andrés Román, Néider Parra, César Haydar, and Milton Casco; and a midfield including Matheus Uribe, Edwin Cardona, Eduard Bello, Juan Rengifo, and Andrés Sarmiento, with Alfredo Morelos leading the attack.
