The scoring opened at the 34th minute of the first half when Alex Luna converted a penalty, breaking the deadlock. Shortly after halftime, Gabriel Abeldaño leveled the score for Atlético Tucumán with a well-crafted play.
With the match appearing to be heading for a draw, Instituto snatched victory in the 46th minute of the second half, courtesy of Giuliano Cerato’s decisive strike. This late goal had fans on their feet as Instituto celebrated an important win.
Atlético Tucumán had a chance to change their fortunes in the 59th minute when Lautaro Godoy’s effort struck the post, leaving them frustrated.
