In the fourth round of the Apertura, Tigre delivered a stunning performance, overpowering River Plate with a scoreline of 4-1. The visitors took an early lead with a goal from Tiago Serrago in the 6th minute, followed by David Romero’s strike just 10 minutes later. Ignacio Russo further extended the lead with two goals (4’ and 23’ of the second half). Lautaro Rivero managed to score a consolation goal for River Plate in the 44th minute of the second half.
Despite having 65% possession, River Plate struggled to convert chances, with Tomás Galván hitting the post at the 33-minute mark, which would have provided a much-needed goal.
Ignacio Russo was undoubtedly the star of the match. The forward shone brightly with two well-placed goals, three shots on target, and a commendable 13 successful passes.
David Romero also played a crucial role, netting one goal and attempting four shots while connecting on six passes.
