Shortly after, Alejo Veliz extended the advantage to 2-0 in the 34th minute of the first half. Racing Club managed to reduce the deficit through Adrián Martínez, who headed in a goal in the 45th minute. However, time was not on their side for a comeback.
Despite the loss, Racing Club dominated the game in terms of possession, holding 67% of the ball and taking 18 shots compared to Rosario Central’s efforts.
Matko Miljevic stood out as the most impressive player on the pitch, completing 46 successful passes and attempting 10 shots on goal.
