In the first match of the Apertura, Belgrano achieved a significant away victory against Rosario Central at the Gigante de Arroyito stadium. The home team initially took the lead with a penalty scored by Ángel Di María in the 47th minute of the first half. However, Belgrano struck back in the second half with a crucial goal from Lautaro Gutierrez in the 44th minute, followed by an own goal from Facundo Mallo in the 42nd minute.
Rosario Central had a golden opportunity to extend their lead when Enzo Giménez hit the post with a shot in the 60th minute of the second half, which proved to be a turning point in the match.
Lautaro Gutierrez was undoubtedly the standout player of the match, showcasing his skills by scoring one of Belgrano’s goals. Additionally, goalkeeper Thiago Cardozo played a vital role, making eight crucial saves throughout the match.
Under the guidance of coach Jorge Almirón, Rosario Central employed a 3-5-2 formation, featuring Jeremías Ledesma in goal; Facundo Mallo, Ignacio Ovando, and Alexis Soto in defense; and Enzo Giménez, Franco Ibarra, Vicente Pizarro, Agustín Sandez, and Ángel Di María in midfield, along with Alejo Veliz and Jaminton Campaz as strikers.
