At the Estadio Olímpico Universitario, Pumas UNAM and León played to a 1-1 draw in the match for Round 3 of the Clausura.
The game started with a quick setback for the home side as Diber Cambindo put León ahead with a goal just 8 minutes into the first half. However, Pumas rallied back to equalize through their forward Juninho Vieira in the 75th minute of the second half.
Juninho Vieira was instrumental for Pumas, scoring the equalizing goal and taking two shots during the match. Diber Cambindo also showcased his abilities, netting the opening goal and making two attempts on goal as well.
Pumas’ head coach, Efraín Juárez, deployed a tactical formation of 4-5-1, with Keylor Navas as goalkeeper, flanked by defenders Pablo Bennevendo, Nathanael Ananias, Ángel Azuaje, and Jesús Rivas. On the other hand, Ignacio Ambriz’s León lined up in a 4-3-3 formation. Óscar García guarded the net, while Bryan Colula, Stiven Barreiro, Sebastián Vegas, and Salvador Reyes made up the defense. The midfield trio was formed by Iván Moreno, Iván Rodríguez, and Rodrigo Echeverría, with a forward trio of Juan Domínguez, Diber Cambindo, and Ismael Díaz.
The match referee, Daniel Quintero Huitrón, maintained control throughout the encounter.
Looking ahead, Pumas will host Santos Laguna in their next match, while León will take on Tigres at home.
