In a spectacular performance, Chivas claimed a decisive 2-0 victory against Pachuca during the opening match of the Clausura, held at Estadio Akron. Armando González broke the deadlock in the 16th minute of the first half, and Daniel Aguirre added the second goal shortly after the break in the 49th minute, sealing the win for Chivas.
González ignited the crowd with his remarkable goal at the 16-minute mark. After an impressive solo run down the left flank, the forward skillfully placed the ball into the bottom right corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.
Daniel Aguirre was named the standout player of the match, contributing solidly with one goal in addition to his defensive responsibilities. Armando González also had an impressive night, not only scoring but also making two attempts on goal.
Chivas’ head coach, Gabriel Milito, opted for a 3-6-1 formation, featuring Raúl Rangel in goal; a defense line consisting of José Castillo, Luis Romo, and Daniel Aguirre; a midfield comprising Bryan González, Roberto Alvarado, Omar Govea, Efraín Álvarez, Brian Gutiérrez, and Richard Ledezma; and Armando González leading the attack.
