In an intense clash on matchday 18 of Serie A, Genoa and Pisa ended in a 1-1 stalemate at the iconic Luigi Ferraris Stadium.
Genoa struck first, with Lorenzo Colombo finding the net in the 14th minute, only for Mehdi Léris to level the score for Pisa shortly after, in the 37th minute of the first half.
The opening goal came from a superb play by Genoa; Ruslan Malinovskyi delivered a perfect pass to Colombo, who expertly shot from the edge of the box into the right corner.
Mehdi Léris emerged as the standout player, not only scoring the equalizer but also attempting three shots on goal throughout the match.
Lorenzo Colombo also made his mark as a key player for Genoa, contributing a crucial goal.
Genoa’s coach, Daniele De Rossi, set up his team in a 3-5-2 formation, with Nicola Leali in goal; the defense comprised Sebastian Otoa, Leo Östigard, and Johan Vásquez; the midfield included Brooke Norton-Cuffy, Morten Frendrup, Ruslan Malinovskyi, Morten Thorsby, and Aarón Martín; while Lorenzo Colombo and Vítor Oliveira led the attack.
Meanwhile, Alberto Gilardino’s Pisa lined up in a similar 3-5-2 formation, featuring Adrian Semper in goal; a defensive trio of Simone Canestrelli, Raúl Albiol, and Giovanni Bonfanti; and a midfield with Idrissa Touré, Mehdi Léris, Michel Aebischer, Malthe Hojholt, and Samuele Angori, complemented by forwards Henrik Meister and Stefano Moreo.

Looking ahead, Genoa will travel to face Milan in their next fixture, while Pisa will host Como 1907 at home.
