São Paulo triumphed over Juventude with a narrow 2-1 victory in a gripping match on Sunday, marking an important result in the 35th round of the Brasileirao.
Damián Bobadilla opened the scoring for the hosts in the 6th minute, establishing an early lead. However, it was Emiliano Rigoni’s goal in the dying moments of the match, just after halftime in the 49th minute, that secured the victory for São Paulo. Nahuel Ferraresi scored an own goal for the visitors in the 50th minute, shifting the momentum but ultimately failing to turn the tide.
Emiliano Rigoni stood out as the match’s most valuable player, demonstrating exceptional form by contributing a goal to his team’s success.
Goalkeeper Rafael also made significant contributions, saving four shots and ensuring his team’s defense remained robust against Juventude’s attacks.
São Paulo’s coach, Hernán Crespo, opted for a 3-5-2 formation, featuring Rafael in goal, with Nahuel Ferraresi, Alan Franco, and Sabino forming the backline. The midfield comprised Maik, Luiz Gustavo, Pablo Maia, Ferreira, and Damián Bobadilla, while Luciano and Gonzalo Tapia led the attacking front.
On the other side, Juventude, managed by Thiago Carpini, deployed a similar 3-5-2 setup with Ruan Carneiro in goal, supported by Luan Freitas, Rodrigo Sam, and Marcos Paulo in defense. The midfield had Igor Formiga, Caíque Gonçalves, Jádson, Luis Mandaca, and Marcelo Hermes, with Giovanny and Gabriel Taliari upfront.
The match, officiated by André Skettino Policarpo Bento at Vila Belmiro Stadium, witnessed several tactical changes and notable events. In the next round, São Paulo will visit Fluminense, while Juventude will host Bahia.
With this win, São Paulo accumulates 48 points, placing them eighth in the standings, while Juventude finds themselves in 19th with 33 points.
