In a tightly contested match, Costa Rica and Honduras played to a scoreless draw in Group C on Tuesday at the National Stadium. Despite both teams pressing for a breakthrough, the scoreboard remained unchanged throughout the match.
Alexis Gamboa emerged as the standout player for Costa Rica, demonstrating solid defensive skills that thwarted numerous attempts by the Honduran attack. On the other end, Edrick Menjívar delivered an impressive performance in goal for Honduras, making several crucial saves to keep his clean sheet intact.
Costa Rica’s head coach, Miguel Herrera, set his team up in a 4-3-3 formation with Keylor Navas guarding the goal. The defensive line consisted of Francisco Calvo, Haxzel Quirós, Juan Pablo Vargas, and Kendall Waston.
