The opening goal came from Darwin Lom just four minutes into the second half, followed by scores from Olger Escobar and Oscar Santis, who added to the tally in the 57th and 65th minutes respectively. Suriname’s effort came too late, with Nicolás Samayoa accidentally scoring an own goal just three minutes into the second half.
Darwin Lom was undoubtedly the star of the match, earning himself the ‘Man of the Match’ title with his impressive performance, accompanied by a goal. Olger Escobar was also a key player for Guatemala, contributing significantly with another goal.
Guatemala’s head coach, Luis Tena, opted for a 3-6-1 formation with Nicholas Hagen as the goalkeeper; a defensive line comprising José Pinto, José Rosales, and Nicolás Samayoa; a midfield that included Aaron Herrera, Jonathan Franco, Darwin Lom, José Morales, Oscar Santis, and Rudy Muñoz; and Pedro Altán leading the front line.
