Following a first-half penalty goal by Peru’s Alex Valera in the 33rd minute, Chile responded effectively after the break. Felipe Loyola equalized in the 52nd minute, and just two minutes later, Darío Osorio found the net to clinch the win for the Chilean side.
Chile’s forward Alexander Aravena had a chance to level the score earlier but was denied by the woodwork in the 52nd minute of the second half.
Darío Osorio was named the player of the match, contributing significantly with his crucial goal.
Peru’s goalkeeper, Pedro Gallese, showcased his skills by making five crucial saves during the match.
