In a thrilling encounter for the 16th round of the Clausura, Gimnasia triumphed with a solid 3-0 victory over Platense at the Estadio Ciudad de Vicente López. The match kicked off with Manuel Panaro opening the scoring with a powerful header in the 19th minute. Just before halftime, at the 40-minute mark, Marcelo Torres doubled the lead with a precise strike after receiving a brilliant assist from Jeremías Merlo.
Gimnasia continued their momentum in the second half, with Franco Torres sealing the deal with the third goal in the 86th minute, further asserting their dominance on the field.
Marcelo Torres’s exceptional performance earned him the applause of the fans, as he perfectly placed the ball into the bottom right corner, leaving the Platense goalkeeper with no chance. Meanwhile, Pedro Silva Torrejón emerged as the standout player of the match, making crucial defensive contributions by intercepting five balls and clearing three from the danger zone.
Manuel Panaro also showcased his skills with one goal, completing nine successful passes and stealing three balls, while he attempted two shots on target.
Platense, under the guidance of coach Hernán Lamberti, lined up in a 4-5-1 formation with Andrés Desábato in goal; Juan Ignacio Saborido, Ignacio Vázquez, Oscar Salomón, and Tomás Silva forming the defense; Leonel Picco, Rodrigo Herrera, Guido Mainero, Santiago Toloza, and Franco Zapiola in midfield; and Nicolás Orsini leading the attack.
