Tigre earned three important points in the Liga Profesional after defeating Estudiantes 1-0 in their match on Matchday 15 of the Clausura. Elías Cabrera was the standout performer, scoring the only goal of the match in the 23rd minute of the first half.
After receiving a well-placed cross from Sebastián Medina, Cabrera unleashed a powerful shot from inside the penalty area that left the opposing goalkeeper with no chance to save.
Elías Cabrera not only contributed with his goal but also completed six successful passes, making him the player of the match. Another key player for Tigre was goalkeeper Felipe Zenobio, who displayed remarkable skill by saving three shots on goal and completing 16 passes.
Coach Diego Dabove set his team in a 4-4-2 formation featuring Felipe Zenobio in goal; Guillermo Soto, Joaquín Laso, Tomás Cardona, and Federico Álvarez in defense; a midfield composed of Elías Cabrera, Gonzalo Piñeiro, Jalil Elías, and Sebastián Medina; and an attacking duo of Ignacio Russo and David Romero.
Eduardo Domínguez’s Estudiantes opted for a 4-3-3 strategy with Fernando Muslera guarding the net; Román Gómez, Santiago Núñez, Facundo Rodríguez, and Santiago Arzamendia making up the defense; while Cristian Medina, Santiago Ascacíbar, and Alexis Castro formed the midfield; and Tiago Palacios, Guido Carrillo, and Edwuin Cetré led the attack.
The match was officiated by referee Daniel Zamora.
Looking ahead, Tigre is set to face Boca Juniors in their next fixture, while Estudiantes will host Argentinos Juniors at the Jorge Luis Hirschi Stadium.
