Vitória clinched a narrow 1-0 victory against Santos at the Vila Belmiro Stadium during the 29th round of the Brasileirao. The decisive moment came in the 40th minute when Matheuzinho Fogaça scored from the penalty spot.
Despite having the opportunity to double their lead, Lucas Braga’s attempt rattled the post in the 85th minute, leaving Vitória with just the single goal margin.
Matheuzinho Fogaça was certainly the standout player, netting the only goal of the match.
Equally impressive was goalkeeper Lucas Arcanjo, who made five crucial saves to maintain the clean sheet for Vitória.
Santos, managed by Juan Pablo Vojvoda, played in a 4-3-3 formation with Gabriel Brazão in goal; Luan Peres, Igor Vinícius, Gonzalo Escobar, and Adonis Frías in defense; Zé Rafael, Willian Arão, and Lautaro Díaz in midfield; while Guilherme, Álvaro Barreal, and Benjamín Rollheiser formed the attacking front.
