On Wednesday, Pereira, known as Furia Matecaña, emerged victorious with a 3-2 win against Millonarios in a thrilling matchup for the 15th round of the first division. Despite conceding two goals to Millonarios, scored by Leonardo Castro at the 11th minute and Santiago Giordana shortly after halftime, Pereira’s offensive efforts were spearheaded by Yesus Cabrera (penalty at 26’), Gustavo Torres (46’), and Darwin Quintero (29’) who contributed to their triumph.
The turning point came just before the break when Gustavo Torres electrified the crowd in the 46th minute, delivering a magnificent shot from outside the box following an assist from Edwin Velasco. The goal greatly uplifted the spirits of Furia Matecaña.
Jhon Largacha had a golden chance to extend the lead for Pereira, but his shot hit the post in the 58th minute of the second half.
