In the 12th matchday of the Clausura, Lanús emerged victorious against Independiente with a solid 2-0 result. The match saw Walter Bou score the opening goal in the 25th minute of the first half, which set the tone for the rest of the game. Rodrigo Castillo sealed the victory by scoring again in the 43rd minute of the second half, expertly beating the rival goalkeeper.
Bou’s brilliant strike at the 25-minute mark earned him applause from the crowd. After executing a skilled solo run on the left side, he placed the ball into the bottom right corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.
Both teams had their moments to score, with chances that rattled the goalposts. Castillo and Leonardo Godoy saw their efforts denied, as Independiente’s persistent attempts on goal failed to yield the desired results. Despite dominating possession with 18 shots compared to Lanús’ 8, only 8 of Independiente’s shots were on target, with 1 hitting the post and 9 going wide.
Rodrigo Castillo was a standout performer, contributing significantly with 1 goal from 2 shots and providing 6 successful passes. Walter Bou also had an impressive match, scoring 1 goal, registering 2 shots, and completing 2 passes accurately.
Defender Gonzalo Pérez of Lanús showcased his skills early in the game by nutmegging Independiente’s Luciano Cabral in the 13th minute.
Independiente’s coach, Gustavo Quinteros, fielded a 4-3-3 formation with Rodrigo Rey in goal; Federico Vera, Kevin Lomónaco, Sebastián Valdez, and Milton Valenzuela in defense; Pablo Galdames, Rodrigo Fernández Cedrés, and Luciano Cabral in midfield; and Santiago Montiel, Ignacio Pussetto, and Matías Abaldo leading the attack.
On the other hand, Mauricio Pellegrino’s Lanús opted for a 4-5-1 lineup featuring Nahuel Losada as the goalkeeper; Gonzalo Pérez, Ezequiel Muñoz, José Canale, and Sasha Marcich in defense; Agustín Medina, Agustín Cardozo, Eduardo Salvio, Marcelino Moreno, and Ramiro Carrera in midfield; with Walter Bou taking the forward role.
The match was officiated by Fernando Echenique.
Looking ahead, Independiente will face Platense at home in their next match, while Lanús will host Godoy Cruz.
