In a decisive clash at the Coloso del Parque stadium, Independiente Riv. (M) demonstrated their dominance by defeating Tigre 3-1 on Friday in the opening match of the Copa Argentina. The game started bright for the team coached by Alfredo Berti, as Matías Fernandez opened the scoring at the 14th minute, finding the back of the net with an impressive play.
Tigre bounced back quickly, with Jabes Saralegui leveling the score just five minutes later, in the 19th minute, after a well-placed strike. However, the evening would belong to Independiente Riv. (M), who regained the lead thanks to Fabrizio Sartori’s goal in the 72nd minute. Ezequiel Bonifacio sealed the win with another goal in the 83rd minute, making it 3-1.
Matías Fernandez was undoubtedly the star of the match, contributing not only with a goal but also challenging the opposition’s defense with three shots on target. Ezequiel Bonifacio also shone for Independiente, netting a goal and testing the Tigre goalkeeper with two attempts.
Tigre’s manager, Diego Dabove, deployed a 4-4-2 formation featuring Felipe Zenobio in goal, supported by a defense consisting of Guillermo Soto, Joaquín Laso, Alan Barrionuevo, and Federico Álvarez.
