The forward Adrián Liso emerged as the standout player, scoring two essential goals that propelled Getafe to a 2-1 victory over Sevilla on matchday 2 of the Liga. Juan Iglesias scored the only goal for the home side with an own goal in the 44th minute of the first half. Liso’s goals came at the 14th minute of the first half and the 50th minute of the second half.
Liso’s first goal was a brilliant effort, finding the back of the net with a stunning shot to the right post, assisted by Luis Milla. Despite having less possession, Getafe capitalized on their chances more effectively, defeating a Sevilla side that dominated possession with 66% overall.

On the other hand, Getafe’s manager José Bordalás employed a 5-3-2 formation with David Soria as the goalkeeper, backed by a defensive line of Juan Iglesias, Djené Dakonam, Domingos Duarte, Diego Rico, and Davinchi. The midfield trio consisted of Mario Martín, Luis Milla, and Mauro Arambarri, while Adrián Liso partnered with Chrisantus Uche up front.
Referee Isidro Díaz de Mera Escuderos officiated the match at Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium.
In the upcoming fixtures, Sevilla will visit Girona while Getafe will face Valencia away. Currently, Sevilla sits in 17th place without any points, whereas Getafe holds the fourth spot with six points.
