Idan Toklomati opened the scoring by breaking the deadlock in the 60th minute, while Kerwin Vargas extended the lead just four minutes later, sealing the win for Charlotte FC.
Despite the scoreline, Charlotte FC had a couple of near misses, with Toklomati striking the post on two occasions. He was undoubtedly the standout player of the match, netting one goal and taking four shots on target.
Goalkeeper Kristijan Kahlina also played a pivotal role for Charlotte, making three crucial saves to keep a clean sheet.
Toronto FC’s defender Richie Laryea showcased his skills with a notable play, nutmegging Charlotte’s Bill Tuiloma in the 12th minute of the first half.
