In the fourth round of the Copa Chile, Ñublense faltered and lost three crucial points to Huachipato, who controlled the match with a final score of 2-1. Displaying their dominance, Huachipato took an early lead of 2-0, highlighted by a header and a well-executed play. Lionel Altamirano opened the scoring just 13 minutes into the first half, followed by a goal from Maximiliano Gutiérrez at the 25-minute mark. Despite Ñublense’s attempts to turn the tide, they could only muster a single goal from Gonzalo Sosa at the 50th minute, courtesy of a strategic play.
The standout performer of the match was Lionel Altamirano, who was named the best player after netting one goal. Another key contributor for Huachipato was Maximiliano Gutiérrez, who also found the back of the net.
Head coach Jaime García organized his team in a 4-3-3 formation, featuring Rodrigo Odriozola in goal; Antonio Castillo, Benjamín Gazzolo, Rafael Caroca, and Maicol León in defense; Claudio Sepúlveda, Jimmy Martínez, and Óscar Ortega in midfield; while Maximiliano Gutiérrez, Lionel Altamirano, and Cris Martínez led the attacking front.
On the other side, Ronald Fuentes’ squad adopted a similar 4-3-3 strategy, with Nicola Pérez guarding the goal; Pablo Calderón, Carlos Labrín, Bernardo Cerezo, and Rodrigo González forming the defensive line; and Lorenzo Reyes, Federico Mateos, and Matías Plaza managing the midfield. The forward trio consisted of Pedro Sánchez, Giovanny Ávalos, and Gabriel Graciani.
The match took place at the Huachipato-CAP Acero Stadium and was officiated by referee Cristián Garay Reyes.
With this victory, Huachipato has guaranteed their advancement to the semifinals of the tournament, effectively eliminating Ñublense from the Copa Chile.
