In the opening match of the Clausura, River Plate established their dominance by defeating Platense 3-1. The game began brightly for the Millonario as Facundo Colidio found the net in the 6th minute, giving River an early lead. Platense responded valiantly, equalizing with a header in the 23rd minute of the first half.
However, River’s determination shone through as they took back control of the match, ultimately concluding the game with a 3-1 victory. Maximiliano Salas scored in the 38th minute, followed by a stunning goal from Miguel Ángel Borja in the 90th minute, assisted by Gonzalo Martínez.
Borja earned applause for his exceptional finish, striking brilliantly into the left corner of the net just before the final whistle. Facundo Colidio was undoubtedly the standout player of the match, contributing significantly with one goal, three shots on target, and completing 27 successful passes.
Another key player for River was Gonzalo Martínez, who made an impact with two shots and 17 accurate passes. Platense’s Leonel Picco also made a notable play, pulling off a nutmeg on River’s Kevin Castaño in the second half.
Coach Marcelo Gallardo set up River in a 4-3-3 formation, featuring Franco Armani in goal; a defensive line with Gonzalo Montiel, Lucas Martínez Quarta, Paulo Díaz, and Marcos Acuña; a midfield with Kevin Castaño, Enzo Pérez, and Santiago Lencina; and an attacking trio of Ian Subiabre, Maximiliano Salas, and Facundo Colidio.
On the other hand, Cristian González’s Platense lined up in a 5-3-2 formation, with Juan Pablo Cozzani in goal, supported defensively by Juan Ignacio Saborido, Gonzalo Goñi, Ignacio Vázquez, Oscar Salomón, and Tomás Silva; a midfield comprising Guido Mainero, Leonel Picco, and Franco Zapiola; and forwards Ronaldo Martínez and Nicolás Orsini.
