The highly anticipated clash between D. Concepción and Huachipato ended in a stalemate of 1-1 during the seventh round of the Copa Chile held at the Municipal Ester Roa Rebolledo stadium.
Huachipato took the lead just before halftime, with forward Lionel Altamirano finding the net at 44 minutes. However, D. Concepción responded valiantly, leveling the score through Joaquín Larrivey in the 61st minute.
Larrivey’s stellar performance earned him recognition as the standout player of the match, as he demonstrated significant skill by scoring D. Concepción’s only goal.
On the opposing side, Lionel Altamirano also shined for Huachipato by netting an important goal during the first half.
Coach Manuel Suarez of D. Concepción employed a 4-4-2 formation, placing Nicolás Araya in goal; Diego Carrasco, Ariel Cáceres, Sebastián Silva, and Nicolas Lhuillier in defense; with Nicolás Astete, Fabrizio Manzo, Brayan Valdivia, and Ulises Ojeda in midfield; and Ángel Gillard alongside Carlos Escobar up front.
Huachipato’s manager Jaime García opted for a 4-3-3 setup, featuring Rodrigo Odriozola as the goalkeeper; with Benjamín Gazzolo, Rafael Caroca, Renzo Malanca, and Maximiliano Gutiérrez forming the defense; Claudio Sepúlveda, Óscar Ortega, and Jimmy Martínez in midfield; and Lionel Altamirano, Juan Figueroa, and Cris Martínez leading the attack.
