In an intense showdown during Week 18 of the MLS, Toronto FC and New York Red Bulls finished the match in a 1-1 draw at BMO Field.
The first goal came in the 19th minute when Mohammed Sofo put New York Red Bulls ahead. However, Toronto FC responded quickly, leveling the score just five minutes into the second half through Theodor Corbeanu.
Toronto FC’s head coach, Robin Fraser, opted for a 3-5-2 formation, featuring Sean Johnson as the goalkeeper, with Zane Monlouis, Kevin Long, and Sigurd Rosted forming the defensive line. The midfield included Derrick Etienne Jr., Alonso Coello, Maxime Dominguez, Matty Longstaff, and Raoul Petretta, while Theodor Corbeanu and Ola Brynhildsen led the attack.
On the other hand, New York Red Bulls, managed by Volkan Bulut, lined up in a 4-5-1 setup. Carlos Coronel was in goal, protected by defenders Kyle Duncan, Noah Eile, Alexander Hack, and Raheem Edwards. The midfield consisted of Felipe Carballo, Daniel Edelman, Mohammed Sofo, Wikelman Carmona, and Emil Forsberg, with Lewis Morgan as the sole striker.
