On Saturday, during the 7th week of the MLS season, Philadelphia celebrated a thrilling match at Stade Saputo against CF Montréal. The home team initially took the lead when Iván Pajuelo scored in the 22nd minute, setting off wild celebrations among Montreal fans. However, Philadelphia Union showcased their resilience when Japhet Sery equalized in the 54th minute with a powerful header. The dramatic comeback was completed when Jesús Bueno netted a stunning goal in the 70th minute, putting Philadelphia ahead 2-1.
Indiana Vassilev almost increased the margin in the 83rd minute, but his shot hit the post, leaving the score untouched.
Jesús Bueno had a standout performance, scoring a goal and attempting two shots. Milan Iloski also played a significant role for Philadelphia Union, making three attempts at goal throughout the match.
The head coach of Montréal, Marco Donadel, utilized a 4-5-1 formation, featuring Thomas Gillier in goal; Dawid Bugaj, Efraín Morales, Brayan Vera, and Luca Petrasso in defense; Victor Loturi, Matty Longstaff, Dagur Thórhallsson, Wikelman Carmona, and Iván Pajuelo in midfield; and Prince Osei Owusu as the striker.
