New York City FC took the lead when forward Hannes Wolf scored just after the break, finding the net in the 50th minute. However, just moments later, Brendan McSorley responded for St. Louis City, leveling the score at 1-1.
Brendan McSorley was undoubtedly the standout player of the match, showcasing his skills and determination by scoring the equalizer. Hannes Wolf also had a notable performance, contributing a goal for the visitors.
NYCFC’s manager Pascal Jansen opted for a 4-3-3 formation, fielding Matthew Freese in goal; Tayvon Gray, Thiago Martins, Kai Trewin, and Kevin O’Toole in defense; and Aiden O’Neill, Maximiliano Moralez, and Keaton Parks in midfield, with Agustín Ojeda, Nicolás Fernández Mercau, and Hannes Wolf leading the attack.
