In a fiercely contested match for the 10th round, Coritiba and Fluminense settled for a 1-1 draw at the Major Antonio Couto Pereira Stadium this Saturday.
The second half provided a spark for Coritiba as they opened the scoring with a goal from Tiago Coser in the 28th minute. However, Fluminense quickly equalized with a strike from John Kennedy just seven minutes later, in the 35th minute of the same half.
Fluminense nearly secured a last-minute victory but was left lamenting as John Kennedy hit the post in the 91st minute, missing a golden opportunity to claim all three points.
John Kennedy was the standout player of the match, finding the net once and taking three shots on target against Coritiba. Similarly, Tiago Coser played a vital role in defense and contributed with one goal.
Coritiba’s coach, Fernando Seabra, opted for a 4-2-4 formation with Pedro Rangel in goal; Maicon, Felipe Jonatan, Bruno Melo, and João Pedro Chermont in defense; Josué Pesqueira and Jacy in midfield; and Lucas Ronier, Sebastián Gómez, Pedro Rocha, and Vini Paulista in attack.
On the other side, Fluminense, led by Luis Zubeldía, implemented a 4-3-3 setup with Fábio in goal; Ignácio da Silva, Guilherme Arana, Juan Freytes, and Guga forming the defensive line; Mattheus Martinelli, Paulo Ganso, and Hércules in midfield; and Yeferson Soteldo, Rodrigo Castillo, and Kevin Serna up front.

In their next fixtures, Coritiba is set to visit Botafogo, while Fluminense will host their historic rivals Flamengo at the Jornalista Mário Filho Stadium, an eagerly anticipated encounter in the Fla-Flu derby.
Currently, Coritiba sits in sixth place with 15 points, while Fluminense holds the third spot with 20 points in the league standings.
