This Sunday, Peñarol suffered a defeat at home against Racing (U), losing 2-1 in a match that showcased intense competition. Racing built a solid lead of 2-0 with two well-executed goals. Yuri Oyarzo opened the scoring at the 41st minute of the first half, followed by Alex Vazquez who doubled the advantage just a minute into the second half.
Despite Peñarol’s persistent attempts to turn the game around, they could only find the net once. Maximiliano Olivera managed to score for the hosts during injury time in the second half, specifically at the 46th minute.
Yuri Oyarzo was undoubtedly the standout player of the match, contributing with a crucial goal. Alex Vazquez also had a commendable performance, netting one himself.
