In a thrilling encounter at River Camp, River Plate showcased their attacking prowess, securing a decisive 6-1 victory over Unión de Santa Fe during the third matchday of the tournament.
Julieta Romero opened the scoring for River Plate with a stunning brace, netting her first goal in the 20th minute and adding another just before halftime at the 37th minute. Paloma Fagiano also contributed significantly, scoring two goals as well, with strikes in the 54th and 76th minutes. Additional goals from Kimberlyn Campos, who found the net in the 79th, and Mercedes Pereyra, who scored in the 84th, sealed the overwhelming win for the local team.
Emilse Albornos managed to net a consolation goal for Unión in the 56th minute but it was not enough to change the outcome.
Looking ahead, River Plate will travel to face San Luis FC next, while Unión will host Belgrano (Cba.). Currently, River Plate leads the table with 9 points, while Unión remains at the bottom without any points, sitting in 15th place in the standings.
