The goals for the home side were scored by Ben Brereton Díaz (15’ 1st half), Maximiliano Gutiérrez (12’ 2nd half), Felipe Loyola (22’ 2nd half), and Gonzalo Tapia (34’ 2nd half). On the other hand, Cape Verde found the net with goals from Dailon Livramento (20’ 1st half) and Lopes Cabral (48’ 1st half).
Chile had a golden opportunity to extend their lead in the first half when Maximiliano Gutiérrez’s shot hit the woodwork in the 44th minute.
