The home team, Gimnasia, took an early lead with a goal from Ignacio Fernández just three minutes into the match. However, Rosario Central struck back quickly; Enzo Giménez equalized in the second half at the six-minute mark. Central continued to press and Gastón Ávila scored a spectacular header at the 29th minute to seal the win.
Gimnasia was almost able to level the score again following a powerful shot from Jaminton Campaz, which struck the post at the 60-minute mark.
