Barracas Central claimed a hard-fought victory on Wednesday at the Estadio Claudio Chiqui Tapia in the 7th round of the Apertura. After falling behind early in the game, the home team rallied to win 2-1, thanks to a brace from Fernando Tobio (6’ of the second half) and Facundo Bruera (9’ of the same stage). Tigre initially took the lead with Ignacio Russo scoring in the 22nd minute of the first half.
After an impressive play, Barracas managed to equalize before completing the comeback with a header from Bruera.
Tigre’s defenseman Federico Álvarez had two great chances to change the outcome but was thwarted by the post on both attempts.
Facundo Bruera was rightfully named the Player of the Match, scoring one goal and taking two shots on target, while Marcelo Miño stood out in goal for Barracas Central, making five crucial saves throughout the match.
