Barracas Central achieved a remarkable comeback in their home stadium on Wednesday during the seventh round of the Apertura, defeating Tigre 2-1. Ignacio Russo initially put the visitors ahead with a well-placed goal in the 22nd minute. However, the hosts equalized shortly after the break, thanks to a goal from Fernando Tobio at the 51st minute, followed by a stunning header from Facundo Bruera just three minutes later, sealing the victory.
Despite Barracas Central’s triumph, Tigre’s Federico Álvarez had two golden opportunities to swing the match in favor of his team, but both attempts hit the post, leaving the score unchanged.
Facundo Bruera was undoubtedly the standout player of the match, contributing significantly to Barracas Central’s success with his goal and two attempts on target. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Marcelo Miño was exceptional, making five crucial saves to keep his team in the game.
Under the management of Rubén Insúa, Barracas Central lined up in a 5-3-2 formation, featuring Marcelo Miño in goal, a defensive line comprising Rafael Barrios, Nicolás Capraro, Fernando Tobio, Nicolás Demartini, and Rodrigo Insúa, midfielders Tomás Porra, Dardo Miloc, and Iván Tapia, along with forwards Facundo Bruera and Jhonatan Candia.
Tigre, under the guidance of Diego Dabove, opted for a 4-4-2 formation, starting with Tomás Sultani in goal, a defense consisting of Martín Garay, Ramón Arias, Alan Barrionuevo, and Federico Álvarez. Their midfield included Jabes Saralegui, Jalil Elías, Gonzalo Piñeiro, and Santiago López, while Ignacio Russo and David Romero led the attack.
The match, officiated by Pablo Dóvalo at the Claudio Chiqui Tapia stadium, saw Barracas Central demonstrate resilience after falling behind.
