A tense match ended in a 1-1 draw between San Lorenzo and Instituto at the Nuevo Gasómetro, as both teams battled for crucial points in the Apertura.
Diego Sosa put Instituto ahead in the 37th minute of the first half with a stunning finish, following a well-placed cross from Juan Ignacio Méndez, slotting the ball past goalkeeper Orlando Gill.
San Lorenzo, however, found a late equalizer through Luciano Vietto, who scored in the dying moments of the match, specifically in the 90th minute, to secure a timely draw for his team.
Gregorio Rodríguez nearly opened the scoring for San Lorenzo earlier in the match with a thunderous shot that struck the post in the 24th minute but left fans yearning for a goal.
Vietto was undoubtedly the standout player of the match, showcasing his skills by scoring one goal, taking three shots on target, and completing 12 successful passes.
Another key player on the field was Juan Ignacio Méndez, who was instrumental for Instituto, successfully connecting 31 passes during the game.
San Lorenzo’s coach, Damián Ayude, opted for a 4-4-2 formation with Orlando Gill in goal; a defensive line consisting of Fabricio López, Jhohan Romaña, Gastón Hernández, and Mathías De Ritis; in midfield, Mauricio Cardillo, Ignacio Perruzzi, Nicolás Tripichio, and Facundo Gulli; and up front, Gregorio Rodríguez paired with Alexis Cuello.
On the other side, Instituto, managed by Diego Flores, set up in a 3-4-3 formation with Manuel Roffo as the goalkeeper; Fernando Alarcón, Leonel Mosevich, and Jonathan Galván making up the defense; a midfield quartet featuring Giuliano Cerato, Juan Ignacio Méndez, Gastón Lodico, and Diego Sosa; with Jhon Córdoba, Matias Fonseca, and Alex Luna leading the attack.
