In the latest round of the Apertura, Racing Club showcased their strength by defeating Banfield 2-0 at the Lencho Stadium. The first goal was scored by Marco Di Césare in the 27th minute of the first half, giving the visitors an early lead.
Just before the half-time whistle, Adrián Martínez extended Racing’s advantage by converting a penalty in the 45th minute.
In the second half, Banfield’s David Zalazar came close to scoring in the 68th minute, but his shot hit the post, leaving the home team unable to find the net.
Marco Di Césare was named the man of the match for his outstanding performance, contributing one goal, winning three tackles, and clearing three dangerous balls.
Racing’s Ezequiel Cannavó also impressed with his defensive skills, successfully regaining possession eight times and clearing two threats.
Banfield’s coach, Pedro Troglio, opted for a 4-4-2 formation with Facundo Sanguinetti in goal and a defense including Santiago López García, Danilo Arboleda, Sergio Vittor, and Ignacio Abraham. The midfield featured Lautaro Gómez, Ignacio Pais Mayan, Lautaro Villegas, and Lisandro Piñero, while Tiziano Perrotta and Mauro Méndez led the attack.
On the other side, Racing’s Gustavo Costas set his team up in a 4-3-3 formation, with Facundo Cambeses guarding the net. The defense included Ezequiel Cannavó, Marco Di Césare, Marcos Rojo, and Gabriel Rojas, while Baltasar Rodríguez, Santiago Sosa, and Matko Miljevic formed the midfield. The forward line comprised Santiago Solari, Adrián Martínez, and Tomás Conechny.
