Barracas Central has progressed to the next phase of the Copa Argentina by defeating Temperley 4-3 in a tense penalty shootout. The victory came after the teams were tied 2-2 at the end of regulation time, leading to the crucial penalty shootout where Barracas converted four out of their five attempts.
Facundo Bruera was the standout player for Barracas Central, scoring both of his team’s goals during regulation at the 57th and 81st minutes. On the other hand, Temperley found the net through Valentín Aguiñagalde (32’) and Valentino Werro (43’). Bruera had a chance to further impact the scoreline but hit the post in the 77th minute, missing a key opportunity to tie the match before the penalties.
In the shootout, Gastón Campi, Norberto Briasco, Facundo Bruera, and Rodrigo Insúa all successfully converted their penalties for Barracas. However, Nicolás Molina and Adrián Arregui failed to convert their chances for Temperley, sealing the match in favor of Barracas.
Facundo Bruera’s exceptional performance included two goals and a total of nine shots on target throughout the match. For Temperley, Valentino Werro also played a vital role, not only scoring but also making significant contributions defensively with three crucial clearances.
Under the guidance of coach Rubén Insúa, Barracas lined up in a 5-3-2 formation with Juan Espínola in goal, supported by defenders Rafael Barrios, Kevin Jappert, Fernando Tobio, Gastón Campi, and Rodrigo Insúa, while Iván Tapia, Dardo Miloc, and Gonzalo Maroni controlled the midfield. Upfront, Bruera and Gonzalo Morales formed the attacking duo.
Temperley, managed by Nicolás Domingo, opted for a 5-4-1 setup. Ezequiel Mastrolía guarded the net, shielded by a defensive line of Valentino Werro, Santiago Flores, Gian Nardelli, Valentín Aguiñagalde, and Lucas Angelini. In midfield were Gabriel Hauche, Adrián Arregui, Gerónimo Tomasetti, and Luciano Nieto, with Marcos Echeverría leading the attack.
