This Tuesday, Independiente Riv. (M) defeated Sarmiento 2-1 in a home fixture for the third matchday of the Apertura. The hosts established a commanding lead of 2-0 early in the second half, thanks to goals from Fabrizio Sartori at the 21-minute mark of the first half and Alejo Osella just 6 minutes into the second half. Sarmiento managed to cut the deficit with a goal from Junior Marabel in the 69th minute, but they were unable to find an equalizer within the remaining time.
Alejo Osella was the star of the match, impressively scoring a goal following a solo run that ended with a stunning shot into the top corner of the net, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.
Earlier in the match, in the 4th minute, Sarmiento was left frustrated when Yair Arismendi’s effort hit the post, denying them an early celebration.
