On Tuesday, Banfield triumphed over Estudiantes (RC) with a score of 2-1 in a match that was part of the third round of the Apertura. The visiting Estudiantes (RC) started brightly and took the lead in the 14th minute of the first half thanks to an impressive play by Martín Garnerone. However, Banfield managed to turn the tide in their favor with two goals in the second half, one from Lautaro Gómez at the 56th minute and another from Mauro Méndez in the 88th minute, clinching a well-deserved victory.
Tomás González of Estudiantes (RC) came agonizingly close to scoring multiple times, hitting the post twice but ultimately leaving the field without a goal to show for his efforts.
Mauro Méndez was undoubtedly the standout player of the match for his side, scoring one goal and making three shots on target. Lautaro Gómez also shone brightly, contributing with a crucial goal and attempting two shots.
