In a thrilling match held at Estadio Jalisco, Atlas triumphed 1-0 over Mazatlán during the fourth round of the Clausura. The only goal of the match came from Uros Djurdjevic in the 10th minute of the first half.
Receiving a precise assist from Mateo García from the left flank, Djurdjevic struck the ball past the opposing goalkeeper to net the game’s decisive goal.
Uros Djurdjevic stood out as the most valuable player of the match, demonstrating exceptional skill with one goal and five shots on target.
Defensive stalwart Sergio Hernández also made significant contributions, solidifying his role as a key player for Atlas.
Coach Diego Cocca fielded a 5-4-1 formation with Antonio Sánchez in goal; Gustavo Ferrareis, Gaddi Aguirre, Manuel Capasso, Rodrigo Schlegel, and Sergio Hernández forming the defense; Alfonso González, Víctor Ríos, Aldo Rocha, and Mateo García in midfield; and Uros Djurdjevic leading the attack.
On the other hand, Sergio Bueno’s side utilized a 5-3-2 setup, with Ricardo Rodríguez in goal; Sebastián Santos, Ángel Leyva, Facundo Almada, Lucas Merolla, and Mauro Zaleta in defense; Édgar Bárcenas, Omar Moreno, and Jordan Sierra in midfield; and Brian Rubio alongside Dudu Teodora in attack.
Referee Salvador Pérez Villalobos oversaw the match at Estadio Jalisco.
Looking ahead to the next matchday, Atlas will host Pumas UNAM while Mazatlán will face Chivas at home.
