In a thrilling match at the Estadio de Vallecas, Osasuna emerged victorious with a solid 3-1 win over Rayo Vallecano. The Rojillos opened the scoring through Ante Budimir in the 28th minute of the first half. Rayo Vallecano fought back, equalizing with a header just after half-time, in the 58th minute. However, the determination of Alessio Lisci’s side was evident as they sealed the win with two goals in quick succession from Víctor Muñoz (90+5’) and Asier Osambela (90+8’).
Javi Galán almost extended Osasuna’s lead with a shot that struck the post in the 36th minute of the first half.
Despite having less possession, Osasuna proved to be more effective, scoring three goals from only 36% possession compared to Rayo Vallecano’s 64% throughout the match.
