In a commanding display, Inter Milan defeated Pisa 2-0 in the 13th round of the Serie A, securing three crucial points. Lautaro Martínez was the standout player of the match, finding the back of the net twice in the second half. His first goal came at the 68th minute from a well-executed play, showcasing his precision inside the box. Just nine minutes later, Martínez struck again at the 77th minute, this time capitalizing on a perfect assist from Nicolò Barella, placing the ball into the bottom left corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.
Martínez did come close to completing a hat-trick at the 85th minute, only to see his powerful shot cannon off the post, missing the opportunity to extend the lead.
Besides Martínez, another key player was Francesco Acerbi, who played a crucial role in defense, making several vital clearances throughout the match.
Under the management of Alberto Gilardino, Pisa set up with a 3-5-2 formation. They featured Simone Scuffet in goal, with Raúl Albiol, Antonio Caracciolo, and Simone Canestrelli at the back. In midfield, Idrissa Touré, Marius Marin, Michel Aebischer, Gabriele Piccinini, and Samuele Angori controlled the play, while Henrik Meister and Mbala Nzola led the attack.
Inter, guided by Cristian Chivu, also deployed a 3-5-2 setup, with Yann Sommer guarding the goal and a defensive trio of Manuel Akanji, Francesco Acerbi, and Alessandro Bastoni. Their midfield included Luis Henrique, Nicolò Barella, Hakan Çalhanoglu, Petar Sucic, and Federico Dimarco, while the attacking duo consisted of Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martínez.
The match was officiated by referee Marco Guida.
Looking ahead, Pisa will host Parma in their next fixture, while Inter is set to face Como 1907 at the iconic San Siro stadium. As it stands, Pisa is positioned 18th in the league with just 10 points, whereas Inter has moved up to 27 points, currently occupying third place in the Serie A standings.
