In the 15th round of the Clausura, Newell’s claimed a convincing 2-0 victory over Huracán. Luciano Herrera opened the scoring at the 26-minute mark of the first half, while Carlos González sealed the game just nine minutes later, showcasing Newell’s efficiency in front of goal.
Herrera received applause for his brilliant finish, capitalizing on a cross from Carlos González, who set him up perfectly to find the back of the net.
Despite Huracán holding the majority of possession with 70%, the lack of clinical finishing meant they could not convert their dominance into goals.
The standout performer for Newell’s was Luciano Herrera, who not only scored but also made three attempts at goal and completed 12 successful passes.
Carlos González also had an impressive game, contributing with a goal, three shot attempts, and seven accurate passes.
Huracán’s coach, Frank Kudelka, deployed a 4-3-3 formation, featuring Hernán Galíndez in goal, with a defensive line of Tomás Guidara, Fabio Pereyra, Nehuén Paz, and Leandro Lescano. The midfield was composed of Facundo Guch, Luca Regiardo, Valentino Acuña, and Martín Luciano, while Carlos González and Luciano Herrera formed the forward partnership.
