During the 19th week of the MLS, Austin FC emerged victorious at home against Los Angeles FC. The solitary goal came in the 37th minute of the second half when Owen Wolff netted the winner.
The forward capitalized on a loose ball in the six-yard box, heading it past the netminder, Hugo Lloris.
Wolff’s performance was stellar, as he not only scored the crucial goal but also contributed significantly to his team’s effort.
Another standout player for Austin was goalkeeper Brad Stuver, who was pivotal in the match with two impressive saves against LAFC’s attempts on goal.
Head coach Nicolás Estévez deployed a tactical setup of 3-4-3, featuring Stuver in goal; a defensive line of Brendan Hines-Ike, Mateja Djordjevic, and Guilherme Biro; a midfield quartet of Mikkel Desler, Ilie Sánchez, Daniel Pereira, and Jon Gallagher; and an attacking trio of Osman Bukari, Calvin Fodrey, and Owen Wolff.
On the other side, coach Steve Cherundolo opted for a 4-5-1 formation, with Lloris guarding the net; Sergi Palencia, Ryan Porteous, Nkosi Tafari, and Ryan Hollingshead in defense; Eddie Segura, Jaílson, Andrew Moran, Mark Delgado, and Timothy Tillman in the midfield; and Jeremy Ebobisse leading the attack.
Referee Rosendo Mendoza oversaw the match’s proceedings.
