In Week 29 of the MLS, FC Cincinnati displayed a powerful performance against LA Galaxy, emerging victorious with a final score of 3-2. The team, managed by Pat Noonan, started strong and took the lead early in the match. Though Greg Vanney’s squad made attempts to come back with goals from Joseph Paintsil (38’) and Mauricio Cuevas (90’), it was not enough to shift the final outcome.
Brenner was the star of the match, scoring a brace with goals in the 21st and 87th minutes, while Ender Echenique also contributed with an early goal in the 10th minute. The LA Galaxy’s Gabriel Pec had a close chance, hitting the post in the 15th minute, missing the chance to equalize.
LA Galaxy’s coach Greg Vanney deployed a 4-3-3 formation featuring Novak Micovic in goal; Miki Yamane, Maya Yoshida, Chris Rindov, and John Nelson in defense; Edwin Cerrillo, Diego Fagúndez, and Isaiah Parente in midfield; and Harbor Miller, Gabriel Pec, and Joseph Paintsil up front.
On the other hand, Pat Noonan’s side opted for a 3-5-2 setup with Evan Louro keeping goal; a defensive line of Miles Robinson, Nick Hagglund, and Lukas Ahlefeld Engel; a midfield comprising Ender Echenique, Pavel Bucha, Evander, Samuel Gidi, and Luca Orellano; and forwards Brenner and Kévin Denkey.
The match referee was Malik Badawi.
In the upcoming round, LA Galaxy will host FC Dallas, while FC Cincinnati will welcome Orlando City SC at TQL Stadium.
