In a thrilling encounter, Mazatlán was unable to secure victory at Kraken Stadium as they were held to a 1-1 draw against Atlas in Matchday 9 of Liga MX.
Atlas found themselves trailing when Facundo Almada scored for Mazatlán in the 42nd minute of the second half. However, a crucial penalty converted by Uros Djurdjevic in the 58th minute ensured the teams would share the spoils.
Mazatlán’s Nicolás Benedetti had an opportunity to give his side the lead but squandered a penalty in the 43rd minute of the first half.
Uros Djurdjevic’s performance was outstanding, making him the star of the match. The Atlas forward not only scored the equalizer but also attempted four shots on goal.
Defensively, Facundo Almada stood out for Mazatlán, contributing significantly with one goal and successfully clearing four dangerous attempts from the opposing team.
