In the opening match of Group B, Trinidad faced Curacao, resulting in a scoreless draw as neither team could find the back of the net.
Jackie Jerrin emerged as a standout player, showcasing impressive defensive skills for Trinidad. On the other side, Curacao’s Arjany Martha was equally commendable in defense.
Trinidad’s head coach, Dwight Yorke, implemented a 4-5-1 formation featuring Denzil Smith in goal; Kobi Henry, Josiah Trimmingham, Andre Rampersad, and Rio Cardines in defense; a midfield comprising Tyrese Spicer, Dante Sealy, Daniel Phillips, Levi García, and Kevin Molino; with Noah Powder leading the attack.
Meanwhile, Curacao, under coach Dick Advocaat, also adopted a 4-5-1 setup, parading Eloy Room as goalkeeper; Shurandy Sambo, Sherel Floranus, Riechedly Bazoer, and Jurien Gaari in defense; a midfield with Roshon Van Eijma, Jearl Margaritha, Livano Comenencia, Leandro Bacuna, and Juninho Bacuna; and Jeremy Antonisse up front.
The match took place at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, officiated by Katia García Mendoza.
Looking ahead, Trinidad is set to visit Jamaica in their next fixture, while Curacao will host Bermuda.
