At Allianz Field, a tense match unfolded as Minnesota United faced off against the Portland Timbers, resulting in a 1-1 draw in the 26th week of the MLS.
Portland took the lead in the second half when Nicolás Romero inadvertently directed the ball into his own net at the 79th minute, giving the Timbers a 1-0 advantage. However, Minnesota United responded quickly with Robin Lod scoring an equalizer just four minutes later, in the 83rd minute.
In a near miss for Minnesota, Robin Lod struck the post with a shot in the 93rd minute, denying his team the chance to take the lead.
Robin Lod was a standout player in the match, scoring once and taking a total of three shots. Likewise, Kristoffer Velde of Portland impressed by making five attempts on goal.
Head coach Eric Ramsay deployed a 5-4-1 formation for Minnesota, placing Dayne St. Clair in goal, supported by a defensive line including Bongokuhle Hlongwane, Jefferson Díaz, Michael Boxall, Nicolás Romero, and Anthony Markanich.
