However, Érick Sánchez responded for América with a stellar header in the 40th minute, assisted by Cristian Borja, which placed the ball into the right corner of the net past Tigres’ goalkeeper Nahuel Guzmán.
Shortly after, Nahuel Guzmán scored an own goal in the 68th minute, giving América a 3-1 lead. Sánchez completed his impressive performance by netting his second goal of the night at the 57th minute, demonstrating his skill and anticipation on the field.
Tigres’ coach, Guido Pizarro, opted for a 5-2-3 formation, positioning Nahuel Guzmán in goal, supported by a defensive line made up of Javier Aquino, Juan José Purata, Rômulo, Jesús Garza, and Diego Lainez.
