On Sunday, Banfield emerged victorious against Estudiantes with a tightly contested scoreline of 3-2 in a captivating match for the fifth round of the Clausura. Despite Estudiantes taking an initial lead with goals from Santiago Arzamendia (19’) and Román Gómez (44’), Banfield turned the tide in the second half with goals from Rodrigo Auzmendi (53’), Lautaro Ríos (61’), and Martín Río (62’).
Estudiantes had a chance to level the match, but Mikel Amondarain’s shot hit the post, denying them a much-needed equalizer.
